Nicole Chanrion Côte-de-Brouilly, 2022

Strawberry, spice, flowers, blackberry. Nicole Chanrion grew up helping her father in the vineyards and cellar, herself a sixth generation winemaker. Nicole took over her family’s Domaine in 1988, and since then has worked the vineyard by pruning, driving tractors, winemaking and bottling herself. She makes beautifully expressive wine, showcasing her close relationship to the land and her family’s deep history in winemaking here. The Côte-de-Brouilly appellation sits on the hillsides of Mont Brouilly, a prehistoric volcano that left blue schist stones and volcanic rock which yield structured wines with minerality and great aging potential.
